Nobody pays us, so nobody has to claim from us.
Nearse never touches the money for a job. That makes cancelling simple, and it makes refunds a matter between you and the worker — but you should know exactly where you stand, so here it is.

There is no booking fee, no advance and no deposit on Nearse. Cancelling costs you nothing on our side. If you have already paid a worker directly, that money is with them, and any refund is theirs to give.
Cancelling a booking
A booking on Nearse is a request sent over WhatsApp, not a contract we hold. To cancel, message the worker on the same WhatsApp thread and tell them. That is all that is needed.
- Before the worker accepts — nothing has been agreed. Cancel freely.
- After they accept, before they set out — please give as much notice as you can. A worker who has kept a slot for you has turned other work away.
- After they have arrived — this is where a visiting charge is fair, if the worker told you about one beforehand. Settle it directly with them.
We do not charge a cancellation fee and we do not allow one to be charged through Nearse, because no payment passes through Nearse at all.
Refunds
We hold no money, so we cannot issue a refund and we will not pretend otherwise. If you have paid a worker and the work was not done, or was done badly:
- Ask the worker directly first. Most things end here.
- If that goes nowhere, tell us. We cannot move the money, but we can take a profile down, and a worker who does this does not stay on Nearse.
- For anything substantial, the ordinary consumer routes remain open to you: the National Consumer Helpline on 1915, or the consumer commission for your district.
If a worker does not turn up
Tell us. Use Report this profile on their profile, or message us. Repeated no-shows get a profile removed — being findable on Nearse depends on actually turning up.
If you are a worker and a customer cancels
You keep whatever you have already been paid; that is between you and them. If someone repeatedly books and cancels, report them to us with the number and we will block them from sending further requests.
What Nearse costs
- For customers — free. No booking fee, no service charge, no commission. There is no plan to change this.
- For workers — free for the first 3 months from the day the profile is approved. We ask for no card, no UPI mandate and no payment details of any kind, so there is nothing to cancel and nothing that can auto-charge you.
- After the trial, listing a profile may become a paid subscription. We will tell every worker the price in advance and nobody will be charged without agreeing to it first. We will never take a commission out of what a worker earns.
- The rate a customer pays is set by the worker and shown on their profile. The final amount is agreed between the two of you after the worker has seen the job.
Price ranges
Each service has a floor and a ceiling drawn from what that trade actually charges in Guwahati, and a profile cannot be published outside them. This exists to keep out listings that are not serious — a carpenter at ₹5 a day, or ₹50,000. It is not us setting prices: within the range, the worker chooses, and we take none of it.
Complaints
Everything above is also covered by our terms of use. If you are unhappy with how we have handled something, our Grievance Officer is Salinur Alom, and the routes to him are on the contact page. We acknowledge complaints within 24 hours and aim to resolve them within 15 days.
